Everything has beauty, but not everyone
First of all, I liked it as a remembrance of my friend, then because I like the color. Both those aren't the real reasons it's beautiful to me.
I come from a long line of seamstresses. Not the sewing on a button, hemming a skirt. I'm talking skilled women whose talents were so appreciated by others, that their creations were in demand.
My mom made mine and my sister's clothes until we reached middle school. Mama even made our wedding dresses. This simple grosgrain ribbon reminds me of the trim she would put on my dresses as I was growing up, a little something to make me feel special.
This scrap of trim also makes me think of the pony tails I've put in Annalyn's hair. A little piece of quiet when it's just the two of us, chatting about nothing and everything as I comb out her "wild and crazy hair", as she likes to call it. Annalyn thinks I'm just getting the hair out of her face. What she doesn't know is we're building a relationship and making a memory, and that's absolutely beautiful to me!
Where do you find beauty? Is it in a sunrise or sunset? In a magnificent work of art? In the eyes of your child? Is beauty all around you, or do you have to look for it?
3 You shall also be [so beautiful and prosperous as to be thought of as] a crown of glory and honor in the hand of the Lord, and a royal diadem [exceedingly beautiful] in the hand of your God.
