There was also a whole etymology about the term "links". (Sports and a big word about words,what a blog bonus!) And I'll admit I like learning about words, but just in case you're not as much of a nerd as I am, we'll just skip that.
Hold that Arnold Palmer thought for a minute.
For the last couple of months, I've been working with my marketing guy, Bob. He's been oh so patient! One of the strategies he really pushed was to find ways to connect with folks everyday through social media.
After beating my head against the wall for several weeks, my brain shut up long enough to listen. (Am I the only one who has that problem sometimes?)
He says, “Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth.”
Psalm 46:10 NIV
Boy, sounds like a slacker, doesn't it?
Not really. I have loved being able to focus on my book writing more. But, it was time to monitor and adjust, thanks to Bob's gentle prodding. (Thank you for sticking with me as my posting schedule has evolved!)
Okay, back to the golf pun and analogy.
Please keep in mind that we came from a small, rural community in middle Georgia. Mama was just Mama, nothing plain, but not "fancy" either. Anyway, with fear and trembling, Mama took up golfing with the other officers' wives.
When I need a little courage, when I have to make a change, I think of Mama getting her brave on and hitting the links.
Are there times doing the next thing or a big thing frightens you? How do you handle it? Who's the person who's blessed you with a model for "hitting the links"?
So do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
Isaiah 41:10 NIV
