One thing about having a plan, or list, is the gratification of crossing things off. It's only halfway through the summer and I can already cross off number one: read at least one fiction and non-fiction book. Woo-Hoo!
When I wrote that, I had one novel from my favorite series and one marketing book in mind. Apparently, God had a few other books in mind for me.
In the marketing book I've been reading, it suggested reading and doing online reviews of books in the same genre as my current manuscript. Great! More things to add to my summer list.
That’s how it is with my words. They don’t return to me
without doing everything I send them to do.
Isaiah 55:11 CEV
Plans fall apart without proper advice; but with
the right guidance, they come together nicely.

Did you receive your newsletter last week? If you've generously shared a comment in the last six months, you're good to go. (Tom found his in Promotions.)
My goals for the newsletter are simple:
- offer helpful info about reading and/or writing;
- keep it short and sweet; and
- connect with you in a new way.
I wonder if Gutenberg or Edison had glimpses of how their contributions would affect our lives. I wonder if they even began to imagine how they impacted the availability of the written word and media.
Whatever their aspirations or insights, I am so thankful that we literally have God's Word and wisdom at our fingertips, aren't you Dear Reader? And, thanks to technology, we are no longer limited in where or when we share the good news of Jesus Christ.
1 In the beginning the Word already existed; the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 From the very beginning the Word was with God. 3 Through him God made all things; not one thing in all creation was made without him...
14 The Word became a human being and, full of grace and truth, lived among us. We saw his glory, the glory which he received as the Father's only Son.
John 1: 1-3, 14 GNT
