As soon as our granddaughter, Annalyn, was old enough, we whisked her off from the Midwest to the Florida beaches. Just like her mom's first trip, Annalyn was a bit overwhelmed and hesistant at first. But then, again like her mother, the soothing water, with all it's enticements, got the best of her curiosity. Not surprising, it was hotter than hot, so I'm pretty sure Annalyn and I enjoyed the trip a little more than the others.
After delighting so much in all of the kids' first visits to the beach, it's no surprise that Bobby and Bonnie's second adventure took them to the beach as well.
"Bright, blue sky….green and turquoise shimmering
water… and sand the color of the inside of Bobby’s ear. The waves tickled the sand and made a sound that sounded like, “Come on in; come play with me.” The seagulls dipped into the water and came up with their beaks filled with fish for their lunches. For once, Bonnie was speechless. She just stood looking at the explosion of new sights and sounds. Mama laughed when she looked at Bonnie, whose mouth was open wide and eyes even wider. Then Bonnie grabbed Bobby’s hand and they started running as fast as they could to the water." I hope Bobby and Bonnie's trip to the beach brings you moments of calm, refreshing and remembrance that the One who numbers the grains of sand is the One who comforts us with His constancy and sweeps us into His arms when storms rage and waves crash.
