7 Your Spirit is everywhere I go. I cannot escape your presence.
8 If I go up to heaven, you will be there. If I go down to the place of death, you will be there.
9 If I go east where the sun rises or go to live in the west beyond the sea,
10 even there you will take my hand and lead me. Your strong right hand will protect me.
“Come on, Bonnie! It really isn’t bad once you get used to it.”
Mama had started to gather seashells. Papa was splashing with Bobby. Bonnie wanted to make a picture with seashells when they got home, but if she didn’t get into the water, Bobby would tease her all the way home.
Papa turned and saw Bonnie looking puzzled. Slowly, Papa came to where Bonnie was.
“It’s okay, Bitty Bunny. Let’s hold hands and walk out to the waves together. I won’t let anything happen to you,” Papa smiled at her.
Bonnie and Papa held hands and headed to the water. Papa kept Bonnie talking about how she and Mama had redecorated her new hat that the wind had torn up on the way to Sunday school. Bonnie was so excited describing the newest ribbons and flowers she didn’t noticed she and Papa had crept into the water up to her knees.
Mama had gone back to their blanket to put down her shells and to get something to put more in. As soon as she started walking back to the beach she noticed only two bunnies instead of three. Bonnie had looked up from chatting with Papa and noticed at the same time.
“Papa, where’s Bobby? I thought he was beside you before you came to get me,” said Bonnie.
“Mama, Mama, hurry!” yelled Papa as he turned loose of Bonnie’s hand and pushed her towards the beach.
“Bobby, Bobby! Where are you?” called Papa as he hurried into the waves.
